Collie was engaged to work with the local community to prepare earthworks and planting plans for the redevelopment of large sections of the environmental park. Key considerations in designing and documenting the works was the proximity of the Merri Creek, the establishment of safe clearances between the ground and major overhead power transmission lines and retention and enhancement of the sites educational facilities. The site is a former quarry filled by tipping of waste and special attention to contamination issues was required. The works included wetlands, planting, fencing and new paths. Collie engaged an environmental consultant and administered the civil works contract.
