URBAN DESIGN

The core interest of the Collie urban design team is the spatial, structural and community interrelationship within and at the edges of the public domain.  At Collie we strive to better understand context and setting. With each project, we aim to draw out the unique qualities of the site. We collaborate with community and other stakeholders to identify the local needs and background issues and opportunities to be addressed.  Working as part of multidisciplinary teams our staff prepare vision statements, design frameworks, design guidelines, subdivision designs, streetscape design plans and building envelope plans.  We believe that the urban design perspective is an essential part of the planning process from the strategic planning to the design detailing stages of a project.

 

Urban Design services

Assist clients in visioning projects to set out aspirations, directions and themes to be implemented as a development or re-development.

Provide input as lead or support consultant in Urban Design Frameworks and planning processes.

Prepare urban design guidelines and manuals for public and developer clients.

Provide subdivision design services on projects ranging from masterplanned new residential estates to a small infill site with few lots.

Provide local Councils and commercial developers with streetscape design plans and implementation strategies for existing and new streetscapes.

Design and prepare approved building envelope plans and documentation.

Work closely with clients and selected artists, to develop urban art installations.
